Gabby Shawcross is a Los Angeles based artist using new media technology in performative and prototypical public realm interventions. Responding to people, movement, and cultural heritage, his site-specific moving image sculptures and surfaces explore notions of image, identity, temporality and interaction. His work animates architecture, bridges the digital and physical, connects the public with their built environment, and brings people together for unique shared experiences and visual spectacle.

Gabby founded multi-disciplinary practice, Studio Of Cinematic Architecture (SOCA) in 2011 to enhance everyday urban experiences with innovative public art. Gabby also teaches experimental design studios and is currently teaching an advanced research studio in UCLA’s Architecture and Urban Design Department in Los Angeles.
