Digital Pond, Alder Hey Children's Hospital

Digital Pond is an interactive sculpture and digital water feature developed though a series of workshops with the Children and Young People's Design Group at Alder Hey Children's Hospital. Large digital koi carp are attracted toward children sitting around the pool, while shoals of smaller fish swim away, creating continually changing responsive patterns of light that create a welcome distraction for visitors. The laser-cut stainless steel surface is populated with acrylic lenses above a completely bespoke radially array LED display.
